| Bio: | This is a character journal for ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} apurgatoriumCharacter’s Name: Nana Alba Character’s Fandom: +Anima Character’s Personality: Nana is a very sweet and kind girl. She loves doing homely things, like cleaning, sewing, and baking. She also likes pretty clothes and jewelry. All of this makes her a very girly girl. She isn’t entirely sweet, though. She can be cranky when people get on her nerves, and she’ll lecture you for hours if you do something stupid. Finally, she tries to act responsible like a grown woman, even though she’s only 10. She’s actually pretty good at doing the responsible thing, though she does slip up sometimes. She only acts like this if she knows you, though. If you’re unfamiliar to her then she’ll act polite (if you’re nice to her) or standoffish (if you’re not nice). She’s also very distrustful of normal humans, since they wronged her so many times in the past. Character’s Background: For the first nine years of her life, Nana lived with her parents on a small farm. They didn’t do so well, though, so they were very poor. Whatever little money they did make was quickly drunken up by her alcoholic father. Then, while he was drunk, he would beat his wife and daughter. Nana managed to find some happiness, though, thanks to her mother. Her mother raised her with love and adoration, and she taught her daughter all of the necessary skills for being a young lady. One night, though, everything changed. Nana’s father came home drunk, as usual, but this time Nana tried to stand up for her mother. She tried to push her father away from her mother, but she accidentally stabbed him in the hand with the scissors she was carrying. Fearing her father’s wrath, Nana fled into the woods. However, since it was the middle of the night, Nana got horribly lost. She kept running, though, because she knew her father would kill her if he caught her (he was planning on it, too. He chased her with an axe). Eventually she couldn’t go any father because she just couldn’t see. Then, suddenly, she changed. Now would be a good time to mention the +Anima. +Anima are people who have gained the powers of animals. They could have wings like a bird, or they could have claws like a bear. All humans in the +Anima world are born with the ability to gain these powers, but they do not inherently have them. They must be acquired, and there are two specific rules to acquiring them. The first is that the person must be under the age of fourteen at the time they acquire their powers. The second is that they must be in a situation where they would die (or at least think they will die) without that animal’s powers. In this case, Nana received the powers of a bat. She suddenly grew great black wings on her back, and her ears became much larger. Her throat also changed slightly, so that she could produce the little ‘clicks’ that bats produce. Because of this change, she was able to use echolocation to escape the forest and run away from her home that night. Since then she has been on the run, trying to find a place she could call home. +Anima aren’t generally liked in her world, so it was difficult to find somewhere that accepted her. Eventually, though, she was able to find a group of young boys who were +Anima, just like her. They began traveling together, all united by the desire to find a home. (As a note, people with +Anima powers can change between a normal human appearance and displaying their +Anima traits at will. For example, Nana has bat wings and bigger ears, but she can look like a normal human whenever she wants to. While in human form the only way to tell that someone is a +Anima is by the markings on their body that are specific to +Anima. Nana’s marks are on her upper back and the back of her neck.)
